Founded by award-winning producer Louise Smith, Film Depot is a film and television production company based in Sydney.

Louise Smith Producer
Louise Smith is a celebrated Australian Producer. She developed and is an Executive Producer on the Studiocanal feature film KANGAROO (the highest grossing Australian film 2025) and is a producer on the feature documentary WHISTLE, which premiered at TIFF last year and was the opening night film at DocNYC.
She served as a Commissioning Editor at the ABC where she commissioned, developed and executive produced series’ such as BAY OF FIRES, PLUM, LADIES IN BLACK, SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, WHITE FEVER and MOTHER AND SON.
Louise’s producing credits include the drama series THE END for See-Saw Films, created by Samantha Strauss; feature film THE SQUARE, directed by Nash Edgerton and written by Joel Edgerton & Matthew Dabner; and the AACTA Award winning movie RIOT, directed by Jeffrey Walker and written by Greg Waters. She co-produced the feature film THE RAGE IN PLACID LAKE, written and directed by Tony McNamara and was an executive producer on the DANCE ACADEMY feature film, written by Samantha Strauss and directed by Jeffrey Walker.
Her work has screened at festivals such as Telluride, Sundance, Toronto International Film Festival, SXSW, Sydney International Film Festival (In Competition), DocNYC, Aspen and Berlin and has been awarded honours by the Toronto Short Film Festival, Palm Springs, Melbourne International Film Festival and Puchon as well as the AACTAs and the Australian Film Critics Circle Awards.
Louise has worked with companies such as Songbird Studios, See-Saw Films, Werner Film Productions, Porchlight Films, Fulcrum Media, Transmission Films, and served as a freelance Executive at Screen NSW and Screen West. She was a guest lecturer to aspiring producing students at the Australian Film Radio and Television School (AFTRS) and served on the Screen Australia Gender Matters Task Force. She is the owner and founder of Film Depot.
